The Mánes Gallery is pleased to invite you to a special exhibition entitled “From Renoir to Chagall,” which will feature over a hundred works by world-renowned and lesser-known artists. Come and discover the beauty of painting, drawing, graphic art, and sculpture from July 8 to September 2, 2025.
The exhibition “From Renoir to Chagall” brings to Mánes a selection of more than one hundred exceptional works celebrating the diversity of 19th- and 20th-century art. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to see the creations of legendary painters such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Gauguin, Camille Pissarro, Edgar Degas, and Marc Chagall. At the same time, the exhibition also introduces lesser-known yet equally captivating artists – including Leon Kaufmann, Alicja Halicka, Mela Muter, Pierre Eugène Montézin, and Sigmund Menkes.
This carefully curated showcase has been made possible thanks to years of collecting efforts and collaboration with renowned galleries and auction houses across Europe and beyond. Visitors can look forward to a wide variety of artistic techniques – from oil painting, watercolor, pastels, and graphic works to drawings, porcelain, and sculpture. Each work on display comes from private collections, and their selection reflects the curator’s deep relationship with art and history.
In the setting of the Mánes Gallery, the presence of leading Czech artists is, of course, indispensable – among the exhibited works you will also find pieces by Alfons Mucha and František Xaver Harlas, presented within the context of the global art of their time.
The Mánes Gallery warmly invites you to visit this exceptional exhibition, which offers not only an aesthetic experience but also an opportunity to glimpse the evolution of European visual art across two centuries.
Our sincere thanks for their kind assistance in organizing the exhibition go to Piotr Kaszńa, Adam Konopacki, Mirosław Lewandowski, and Piotr Mrowiec.
